Cubs do a wide range of activities, including the occasional camp. Activities range from arts and crafts to climbing and abseiling to kayaking and sailing – we like to give the cubs an experience of the adventure that scouting has to offer! Our cub pack meets at the Trinity church hall on Whippendell Road on Monday evenings between 6.30 and 8pm. We have 3 terms per year that roughly follow those of the state schools and whilst we don’t generally have weekly meetings during the half terms, Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays sometimes there are extra activities that might take place during these times that your child will be invited to participate in. The cost works out at £3 per week and we ask that the subs for each term, which generally last 12-14 weeks, are paid in full at the beginning of each term.
Our programme is carefully planned according to the “Balanced Programme” philosophy that scouting promotes in order to provide a wide range of activities and experiences.
Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running cub meetings! All adult leaders have training and are DBS checked (previously known as CRB), and there is always at least one adult present who is first aid qualified. You can see who the cub Scout leaders are in the group section and if you are interested in your child joining our pack or just want to find out more information please use our Enrol Your Child contact form.
